Day 63 - Please Don't Poo on Me

That's all I kept thinking as I was hiding under the willow tree trying to get some bird pics today. It was kind of exciting because I was trying to be super still and quiet. I was only about 6-7 feet away from this guy. It was a nice afternoon here. I hope spring is coming soon!!! I initally started trying to get shots of Owen with the sky in the background, but the birds turned out to cooperate more. I got a lot of really cool bird shots. I was hoping a cardinal would come in but not such luck today. I think they like me...afterall they didn't poo on me! That I know of anyway. I had on my big coat and was tempted to put up the hood just in case one of these birds got crazy. BTW-anyone know what kind of bird this is?

Day 62 - Seriously?

I was helping Owen finish up his lunch today when we heard this loud thud/bang/boom coming from upstairs. My first thought was something in the bathroom fell off the side of the tub, like one of the suctioned on toys or something. Little did I know! I wish it had only been one of the bath toys! Seriously? Who does this happen to? How does this happen? The top rack in my husbands side of the closet broke out/off the wall!! There are clothes EVERYWHERE! I think this is an indication that he has too many clothes!!! So much for finishing up the laundry today. The whites are buried in there under that mess. I guess that's the silver lining. It truly is always something, isn't it?

Day 61 - Boys Will Be Boys

Owen's best buddy, Drew, came over last night for a few hours. He showed up wearing his safety goggles! hehe. Must be a boy thing...we took the boys outside for a few minutes & he wore them outside as well. His mom and I were cracking up! He has on one of our hats backwards. I wish I would have gotten a picture of his entire attire, green rubber boots and all! In my opinion, sometimes the more dysfunctional their outfit is, the cuter they look. He's just being a boy!

Day 60 - Grow Rose Bush, Grow

My photo was insired by a fellow 365 bloggers post yesterday. This is part of our knockout rose bushes. I'm hoping that sooner rather than later these balls/buds/whatever they are sprout out and turn into beautiful hot pink knockout roses! I do try to grow things, but for the most part I'm a brown thumb. I'm getting better with age and realizing they need WATER. haha! Anyway, for fellow brown thumbers who may want to give roses a try I definitely suggest knockout rose bushes. You have to do nothing to them! Ours get huge and lovely. They do get water from the rain and our sprinklers, but for the most part I don't touch them. Hubs trims them back yearly sometimes, sometimes not. These roses do all the work and make me look like a glorified green thumb. ;)

Day 59 - Bittersweet

Today was a sad day for me. You may recall a few weeks ago I posted about being mad at my big dog, Metro, because he bit my small dog. The week after the biting happened I took my Yorkie, Gomer, to meet my dad who is a Veterinarian in Kentucky. As it turns out my little dogs arm (leg) was actually broken in the fight. To make a long story short, my mom brought him home to us this weekend on her trip down to visit. After talking with my mom, I talked her into keeping Gomer. Indefinitely. This morning I dropped him off to her because she stayed with my sister last night. I had no idea how sad I would get as I was crying like a baby all the way home! Although he has really put me through the ringer and doesn't really behave all that well, he's still my dog and I do love him! I've had him for what would be 9 years this year. I know its a good thing. My mom has a little yorkie and they will play together and he will be much happier. He's just not getting the attention he needs and deserves here anymore and he will never learn and get along with the big dog. I'm happy that my mom took him and I can always see him or even bring him back home if I want. So. Its a bittersweet day for me and my photo of the day today is a collage tribute to my little Gomie.

Day 58 - Puffer the Truck

Meet Puffer. He's an old work truck of my husbands that he bought several years ago. We named the truck Puffer because it smokes. A lot. Like big, black clouds of smoke out the tailpipe. Hence, puffer. These days Puffer has become more of a piece of yard junk that stays parked in the back of our yard by the storage shed calling my sons name. He loves to play inside the cab of this junkie old thing. I asked Chris to take O out for a bit today while I did some cleaning and this is where I found them. Owen was having a blast hanging out this window and asking me to get in the truck. I got a lot of really cute shots of him hanging out in Puffer. Or hanging out of Puffer, rather. I wonder if I can sell this truck behind hubby's back and how long it would take him to notice. Afterall, he mostly only used it to take the trash to the dump and since he started slacking on that I signed us up for trash service. Sometimes a girls just gotta take matters into her own hands. I may just have to put it on Craigslist and put the money I make off of it towards a new lens fund. ;-)

Day 57 - Cousins

My mom and granny came down tonight to spend the night with us. I ordered pizza and my sister and her son came by as well. It's great to visit with everyone. I can't get over how big my nephew is getting! Here's the cousins, O and Jordon!
