Day 90 - Breeze

I love these things. These plants. They look to me like they are just swaying in the breeze. I want to plant some stuff like this and some pompas (sp?) grass in my yard because I think they make beautiful backdrops in photos. We went to the zoo today. Man it was so gorgeous today! So I'm also including a photo of our little man that I took. I really REALLY wanted to get a portrait style pic of him in front of these type of things but he wasn't really cooperating. Imgaine that! This is as close as I could get. If only I could have had him facing the other direction. Oh well. Always next time. I love it anyway.

Day 89 - Buzz

I was feeling brave today. Honestly, I wasn't all that scared. I was more focused on getting my pics than being scared of getting stung. The saying bees and dogs can smell fear must be true. I could have sat under our weeping cherry and tried to take pictures of bees for an hour probably. The tree is beautiful. Its like the blooms busted out overnight. When I got home from picking up O today I looked at it closer because I knew I wanted to take pics of it. But the closer you got the more you could hear them. Buzzzzzing! We went out a little later and I decided to go for it and try to get a bee. I did! And no stings, either. I call that a success. :)

Lots o Days

Oh bloggity, blog....I've missed you. I'm so behind!
Day 85 - I've got nada! :O

Day 86 - Granna gives O a haircut. We went to Murray Friday night and stayed until around 5pm Saturday night. We got home around 8pm. Around 15 miles from home Owen got sick in his carseat. It was pitiful. He had to sit there in it until we got home. It was a long day and its nice to be home. Saturdays pic is of the haircut. He was not a happy camper here...obviously! He has short little curls now.

Day 87 - Again, I've got nada. What's my deal?!? I went shopping and bought myself some stuff at a store called Charming Charlie. I love it!

Day 88 - The Converse kicks. Here's O's little feet in his converse kicks today. It was one of my shots for class tonight. Our project this week was on people.
Hopefully I can get back on track from here! :)

Day 84 - Say Click, Take a Pic

That's a song from Diego I believe. Funny how all these cartoons and crap get stuck in your head. What a waste of my memory! Why can't I remember things I want or need to remember, like last weeks discussion in my class on the colors of light that just made my head spin. But yet, here I am, remembering a stupid Diego song. Oh well. It makes for a great title for yesterday pic. :) O was pretending to take my picture while I was trying to take his. Here he's using my camera charger. We are leaving today to go to Murray for tonight for a visit. I still havn't packed so I must get busy! I'm going to see if Granna wants to give O a little haircut trim while we are there...its getting rather large. ha!

Day 83 - Another Bird

It was a beautiful day today! I sat outside during Owen's naptime and read and actually did get sunburnt on my arms. Today's post is of another little bird. Whoever coined the phrase "eats like a bird" and intended it to mean doesn't eat much, must have never had a bird feeder. Birds can eat! I should have had my camera when I was sitting there reading because they were just going nuts! Not sure what this guy is. Sooner or later I should learn my birds. Maybe its a finch. The tree that was once so bare is now starting to sprout its leaves. It makes for some good color and texture. I love this weather!

Day 82 - Spring

We had a nice day. O went back to school after being out for 2 weeks...a much needed return for mom. :) His teacher said he had a great day. The weather here was lovely this afternoon so we spent a lot of time outside after he got home. I think I may have gotten some sun! It would be nice if spring is here to stay this time.

Day 81 - The Curl

O had the cutest corkscrew spiral curl sticking off his head today. I love his hair. That's about all I can say about this one. :)

Day 80 - Big Boy Bed

I never ended up taking a pic of the big bed yesterday. I admit I took it today, but I'm posting it as yesterday's post. :) Here is is folks! The BIG bed! I had no idea it would be so big and tall! It really takes up a lot of space in his room, but its so stinkin cute! Its pretty comfy, too. I went to check on him at naptime yesterday and decided to climb in and join him for a rainy afternoon nap. AND I'm proud to say he slept in it all night last night by himself without making a peep! I'm so proud. Let's hope this pattern continues.

Day 79 - Country Come to Town!

You will have to excuse my awful iphone picture from yesterday, but hopefully the funny story will make up for the lack of photo. I didn't take a single picture yesterday with my camera. It was one thing after another. The biggest event, though, was converting Owen's bed into his very own big boy full size bed!! I went to buy mattresses yesterday and had to come back later with the hubs to pick them up so he could tie them on the top of the car. It was hysterical. The wind was blowing and we had this box of twine strung out everywhere. Owen was sitting in his carseat wondering what the heck we were doing. Hubs tied twine around the drivers mirror so the door wouldn't open. Well guess who had to drive these blasted things home? Yep. You guessed it. That's me hanging out the window for the picture right before we left the mattress store. Luckily, we only live about 5 mile miles from the store. However, 4 of those 5 miles are out a pretty major highway. Luckily for me there is an emergency lane that I drove in most of the was as I was only going around 35 and laughing hysterically the entire way. Hubs had his arm out his window to feel the mattresses. I kept asking, "Are they moving? Are they gonna blow off?!"
I got a call on my cell from my sister-in-law at one point but didn't return it until I got off the main road. She said, "Did I just see you guys on the side of Mt. Juliet road with mattresses on your car?" We were cracking up! She said we were stopped in the emergency lane and Chris had his arm out and I was laughing. Maybe we were just going so slow that we appeared to be stopped! She said she thought to herself, "I think I'm related to those people." LOL! When we got home our neighbors were out and I pulled up in their driveway and Terry yelled, "Hey Rednecks!" We looked like Country come to town, for sure! :) Pardon my no pic from yesterday besides this one, but hope this story made you laugh. I'll take a pic of the big boy bed all set up for today's post. Its super cute!

Day 78 - Me and O

I love taking photos, but have to admit sometimes it stinks to never get to be in them! I have hundreds of photos of Owen and Chris...maybe 25 of me and O. I asked Chris to take a photo of Owen and I today. We were dressed in our going out clothes. Him in his new - adorable - shirt! Me in my new dress over my leggins that you can't even see. I had all but given up on getting a photo. We were late. Owen was running around the yard like a wild man. Chris took several, but this one will work! He's such a stinker. Such a mess. This is his new smile face. He scrunches up his nose and eyes and looks upward with a huge cheese on his face. I'll take it. I love him.

Day 77 - Dream, my sweet angel

I know all of us moms have our "mommy goggles", but I swear I think my child looks like an angel here. But don't they all when they are asleep? haha! This is a rare event in our house. Owen fell asleep on the couch today after lunch. This has happened maybe a handful of times in his life. He's currently napping in my bed. I'm trying out the whole napping in the big bed thing because I think we are so very close to converting his bed to his very own big boy bed. I think (and hope and pray) he's ready. We've tried going to a toddler bed before and it was a complete nightmare. We ended up having to revert back to a crib and get one of those crib tents to keep him in. I've really been talking up the big boy bed, bought him an ultra cute quilt from PBK, and plan to get some cute and comfy sheets. I'm in luck today. Babies r Us has 1 set of the conversion rails in and they are holding them for me. We may try to make this transition this weekend. May he forever have sweet dreams in his big boy bed to come!

Day 76 - What, Mom?

That's not what he said, but its sure what it looks like he was thinking! Something tells me I'll be seeing this face again over the years...especially in about 14 years! It kinda reminds me of a look his father would give me from time to time. ha! It was another grey, gloomy, cool day here. I'm hoping for some sunshine tomorrow. Where exactly is the spring in the spring break we are on??? Off to bed...I'm back into reading the Twilight Series and working on Eclipse. I always said I was too old for these book, but have to admit I do like them. Shhh. :)

Day 75 - My Two Boys

It was a slow photo day for me yesterday and I seem to be a day late in posting these days. I need to get back into the swing of things! I grabbed my camera at dinner last night and got a quick shot of my two favorite guys. Can I just say that I picked up some stuffed orange roughy from our local Kroger and baked it last night for hubs and I. The directions didn't say to add water to the pan but I added a little and it turned into this yummy sauce. It was very good! I suggest it. And you can really make it look like an impressive meal for guests if you serve it on some pretty plates was something more exciting than a package of pasta veggies and corn. I may have to have a dinner party when the kitchen is complete. :)

Day 74 - Kitchen Demo

We are re-modeling our kitchen. On Monday the countertop people came and did their templating for our new countertop that will be installed on Friday. All weekend my husband worked on installing new lights, removing the countertops, and sawing off about 10 inches of a wall that was behind our sink so we can extend the new countertop out and around to form a little seating area/small office space. I am so excited about this re-do. Its been a wish of mine since we bought our home, but is turning out to be about the last thing that we do. Once the new countertops are in we are having a painter paint the cabinets black. We have new hardware for the cabinets....much needed...I've posted a pic of our current hideous brass knobs with flowers on them. Sorry to any readers who may have these. I detest them. Then we will install a glass tile backsplash and also extend that up the wall on the left here where my laptop will sit. The countertops are loose but just sitting on top of the cabinets at the mooment. Oh Friday get here!

Day 73 - Abstracts & Textures

This morning I've been working on my photo assignment for this weeks class. The assignment is over abstracts and textuers. I've gotta say its really testing my right brain. Which is part of the point. Currently, we are re-modeling our kitchen. Yesterday my husband installed two new pendant lights. I LOVE them. This is one of my pics for class tomorrow. I think it captures both abstract and texture in one shot. . . we will have to see what the teach thinks. Hopefully he won't say, yep looks like a pendant light to me. ;)

Day 72 - Shrimp

Last night I shot some photos for a friend at her husband's supposed to be surprise party. She ended up having to tell him about it to get him to the restaurant. He was so ticked that his team, Vandy, lost their game yesterday that he wasn't going to leave the house! So...he ruined the surprise. But it was a fun time. She had the party downtown at a restaurant called Sambuca. I've never been there before, but it was so cool. I took a peek at their menu and would like to go back with my hubs one night for dinner. This is one of the hors d'oeuvres served at the party. Shrimp in a 1/2 a lemon cup filled cocktail sauce. How pretty!

Day 71 - Ziggy's

Our Friday night ritual has become ordering pizza from our favorite local pizza place, Ziggy's. Sausage, pepperoni, green peppers & onions. It is sooooo yummy. Ziggy's also happens to have the best carrot cake in the world. I know, right! Who would know that the best carrot cake in the world comes from a small little pizza joint in Gladeville, TN. They are also one of the only places that will deliever to us. We heart Ziggy's.

Day 70 - Sunflowers

Wow! I just bought these little sunflower planters at Target last Saturday. They were some of my dollar section finds. I thought it would be neat to show Owen their progress. I think I put the kit together on Sunday. It is now Thursday...wow! Look at the growth! The kit says to transplant at 3-4 inches tall...at this rate that may be next week. ha! I'm so surprised at how fast these flowers have sprouted. I will have to follow their progress when I transplant them into the yard. Something tells me they won't grow as fast. ;)

Day 69 - Jammie Riding

We hit the ground running yesterday morning. Luckily O was so worn out from the day before that he did sleep in some, but once we got up it was nonstop action until about 2pm. O and his cousin were outside riding the 4-wheelers in their Jammies. Oh how I adore you warm weather! He has so much fun with his cousins. I wish we got to see them more often.

Day 68 - Lots of Lil Piggies

I'm behind on my blog. It has been a whirlwind past few days. We had family come to visit on Tuesday and stay the night. They all left yesterday. I tried, not so succesfully, to get an Easter picture of all the grandkids for granna on Tuesday. Wow. I maybe got one decent shot out of all the shots I took. They just did not want to cooperate or look at the camera and smile. Here's one of all their little feet. I've got a thing for little people feet. :)

Day 67 - Draw

I took this picture today as part of my f-stop assignment for class tonight. I'm taking a photography class and this weeks assignment is on aperture. Nothing like waiting til the last minute, huh? I did take some last week so I guess I didn't totally procrastinate. I just didn't like them as much so I needed one more subject. I used the good ol' sidewalk chalk as my subject and I am happy now. :) It was fun to edit, too, although images for class have to be unedited.

Owen and I were outside bright and early today. Then we had lunch out here on the deck and he said the cutest things. He first said, "It's pretty." Then he said, "It's nice." He's appreciating the weather, too. This day. Oh this day! It's gorgeous. I'm sitting outside at this very moment. The weather is amazing. I hope it stays and I hope its just as pretty wherever you are reading this from.

Day 66 - Sidewalk Chalk

It was a gorgeous day here. I think it got up to 61 degrees! I also think we may have gotten a little sun on our faces. Our day was full it seems, but we spent a lot of it outside after Church and O's naptime. This afternoon Owen was introduced to sidewalk chalk for the first time. I noticed earlier coming in that he also drew on the seat of one of his little ride on toys. Here's hoping that rain washes chalk off a lot of different surfaces...patio stones, toys, decking...we shall see. I love this weather and tomorrow is supposed to be awesome, too! It will be another fun day of outside play I'm sure.

Day 65 - Spinwheel

I picked up this spinwheel pinwheel thing (whatever they're called) at Target today in the dollar section! Can I just say that I love the dollar section. :) Today was so awesome and I must have been feeling spring coming because I picked up several outdoor things for Owen. Bubbles, a bubble blower gun thing, bubble wand, sidewalk chalk. Then we went to Lowe's and I picked up a Diego Watering Can for him. Can you tell I have spring fever?!? He is going to be so much fun outside this year. And let me tell you, he loves to be outside! I love the sun flare off the spinwheel in the picture. I saw it happen when I was taking it because it nearly blinded me. When I went to look at it I was thinking the picture probably didn't turn out very well, but I'm really happy with it! I was trying to get photos of him in a bubble haze at this time, but he wasn't interested. So I settled on the spinwheel and am glad I did.

Day 64 - Momma Help You

Finally. FINALLY! I do believe spring is on its way. Owen and I went outside for a while yesterday to play and take pictures. Nothing can beat the sunshine after a long, grey winter. YEY! Here's O playing on one of his yard toy/climber things. It wasn't long after this that I had to put the camera down and help him because he was scared and stuck and couldn't go any farther. Although I'm so glad he's getting older, more independent and learning to do things on his own, I still secretly love that my little man still needs his momma to help him from time to time. And that will never change. Being his momma means I get to be the one (or one of the ones) he will always call to for help from time to time, no matter how old he gets. For that, I'm thankful. I'm so glad I'm his mommy.
