Day 240 - Sweet Dreams, Little Man

I just went up to check on O and hopefully catch my photo of the day. Success! The past two days he has taken a very late nap. Yesterday after our visit to transportation, I crawled in bed with him and we napped until 6:30pm! Wowza! He was insistent on eating oatmeal for dinner last night, so I was like fine, whatever. After he ate he came outside and he said, "I thought it was up time!" Awww, he thought we had slept through the night and it was a new day. hehe. Today the same thing happened. He wanted oatmeal after a late nap. I told him before, though, that we were still on the same day. He still wanted oatmeal. Some battles just aren't worth it. So he ate oatmeal. Then mac and cheese. ha! Anyway. He's been up super late the past two nights...but looks like he's out now. There's nothing sweeter than a sleeping baby, no matter how big the baby is. Sweet dreams, my little man.

Day 239 - Transportation, This is O

Yesterday we had a long overdue visit with some old co-workers of mine. We went to the transportation office, then to lunch at rafferty's (my FAVE), then back to transportation. All in all we visited for almost 4 hours I think. It was fun. I miss my old co-workers, but certainly don't miss the job. Here's O playing at one of their desks. He looked like he was really busy working. Maybe he should get a job there and earn his keep. ;)

Day 238 - There She Is

Miss A-merica!!!
We finished up my nieces's one-year shoot on Thursday. She would not keep her crown on. :) That's okay, we all no she's a princess anyway.

Day 237 - Two Words...

...Nutella Frosting. Yum YUM!
My sister-in-law loves to bake cupcakes. She brought me some today that are made with homemade nutella icing! Oh my. First off. Have you had nutella? Do you like nutella? If you havne't had it, you're missing out on one of lifes little delicious treasures! It's a cocoa and hazelnut spread that is delish! Its really good with pretzels dipped in it. I'm not sure what all goes into this frosting, but I gotta say it was pretty dern tasty. I could have had a 2nd one and wanted to, but little man came downstairs and saw them on the counter...followed by a "what's that?" Uh huh. Yea. Its the last thing he needs right at bedtime. Not only do they taste good, but they're pretty too! Yummy Jayne!

Day 235 - Eew eeew that smell...

Can't you smell that smell? Haha. Nah, there's not really a smell. Not sure why he's making this face like he smells something, but I thought it was funny so I'm sharing it with you! I was in the studio on Monday night messing with the lighting and my giant reflector. Owen and Chris were my test models. I guess the softbox was so bright O figured he needed shades. ha!

Day 234 - Cruddy

The hubs and I aren't feeling well. We've got drainage, cough, aches and both were running a low grade fever tonight. Ick. I took advil a few hours ago and it has helped. I swear. Ibuprofren is a wonder drug.

I took a picture today, but it was for a friend with her camera. So...I've got nada for you. Tomorrow I'll try to show you and "after" of the garage.

Day 233 - Angel

Oh my goodness. My niece! She looks like a little angel perched on a cloud here! On Saturday evening they came over and we worked on some pics of her for her 1-year shoot. Here, she's wearing her dedication outfit. I'm in *LOVE* with this shot. Such a beauty.

Day 232 - Oh, the mess!

On Friday, O went to spend the weekend with his Granna and Pops in KY. Chris and I spent a lot of time working on the garage this weekend. The main thing we got accomplished was the what will be entry to the studio that comes through the garage. This is the BEFORE. Oh my gosh, what a mess!! This is my husbands "domain" and I have to tell you...it is a WRECK! Wow. Anyway. I took this shot Friday night. I'll have to post an after later. Basically we painted the concrete wall with a fresh coat of white paint. Then we painted the upper portion of that wall a bluish grey color. He sanded the steps and stained them. And we painted the railing white. We then hung a pole that will hold a curtain that my neighbor is going to help me make that runs the length of the garage. People will come through the walk through door and walk up the steps...where I will display photos, etc...and pay no mind to the junk behind the curtain hopefully. ha! It took all day Saturday and we were spent afterwards.

Day 231 - Little E & N

My friend brought her twins over on Thursday so we could play in the studio. My word! These two were hard to photograph, let me tell you! 7 months. Wow.
Here are two of my faves from the day.
Sweet E

And his sis, Sweet N

These two are a handful! :)

Day 230 - Sweet A

My sister-in-law and her daughter stopped by for a visit this afternoon. I showed them the progress on the studio space and snapped a few of my sweet little niece.
How sweet is this little face! We're going to work on her 1-year shoot this weekend. I'm excited. She's such a good little model.

Day 229 - Back to School

Yahoooo! Yippppeeee skippppeeeee! Hooorrraaaay! Can you tell I am excited about this day? Yep. Little man went back to his preschool today. I snapped this pic in the parking lot before we headed in this morning. I love it. There were no tears involved for anyone. I think he's going to have a great year! I haven't felt this productive all summer long. The house is clean...I'm clean...after I picked him up and we went to the grocery...my blog post for the day is almost done...and its not even 4pm yet! When I left him this morning he was playing, which made me feel great!

I think he's going to have a great year. Yahooooo!

Day 228 - He's a Safety Guy!

These are O's "ear muffseses" as he calls them. He doesn't like loud noises, so he wears these from time to time when he's around something loud or on the lawn mower. I wanted to enter this one into I heart faces, but didn't know if the safety glasses would qualify as shades so I'll just share this one with you. Such a silly boy with his safety goggles and ear muffs on.

And here's another share from today. O's becoming quite the little couch napper...wonder where he gets that? ;) Today I looked over and his little foot was peeking out and I couldn't help myself. I can't believe how big he's getting.

I Heart Faces - Gotta Wear Shades

I've been exploring the I Heart Faces blog recently and decided to enter into their weekly theme - gotta wear shades. Here's O rocking his free shades that were in the pampers little swimmers box. Head on over to I Heart Faces to check out the other entries!

Day 226 - Take me out to the Fair

Saturday night we loaded up with my sister and her son and headed to our county fair. Our county fair is huge, its one of the largest in the state, and I love to go. This year I was particularly excited...not only for my corndog...but for O to experience some rides! We arrived at the fair late afternoon and aside from the intense heat were having a nice time. We had been there about and hour and a little rain storm popped up. So under a tent at the balloon dart game we huddled trying to stay dry. Suddenly, to the side of us, a girl collapses and has a heat stroke! My sister ran over to help, my husband ran around trying to call for help, and I huddled with the boys under the tent and watched in shock! She finally came through. I'm sure laying in the rain helped cool her off immensely. She was okay, just prone to heat strokes, and this has happened before according to her mother. It was pretty crazy! So that storm let up and we moved on looking around and got some food, when before long another shower popped up! We took our food and found a little canopy to stand under and waited for the rain to clear up. About 15 minutes later we were on the move again. I went into the photo exhibition hall and they took the boys to the livestock barn. Well that's when all hell broke loose in the sky. A severe thunderstorm moved in. To make a long story short, we were trapped inside the exhibit hall for over an hour. Once we were able to make it back to the car without getting struck by lightening and with just a slight drizzle we made our move. The parking lot was a mud hole. By the time we got to the car we were wet and muddy. Needless to say it was just comical at that point. And get this...I never even got my corndog!! But...on the way home Owen said he had fun and he liked his corndog. So I guess that's all that matters. :) He rode the Bob the Builder Construction Zone ride about 7 times, so at least we got our $20 worth from his handstamp. Maybe next year will be better. And I'm still ticked I didn't get my corndog.

Day 225 - Studio Play

Owen and I finally played with the studio lights today. It was SO MUCH FUN!
I still need to get a few things, but I'm really happy with my first go around with the new lights and setup. Here are a few from the day!

Day 224 - Metro

Hi. I'm Metro. My name comes from when my mom rescued me from Metro Nashville Schools Transportation Parking Lot. I'm a street dog. I'm smart. I like to run. I like to chase birds, rabbits and hunt moles. I run streaks at night and they call me White Lightening. I'm a 65 pound lapdog. I'm scared of storms. I hate the FedEx/UPS delivery trucks and am finally warming up to the bug man after years. I like to come in the house, but never use the potty inside. I get up on the patio furniture at night if I don't get let in the garage to sleep and this ticks my mom off. I have eyes that look human. My hair is crazy like my moms. I'm not sure what breed I am. I'm white with some brown spots, but mostly in this pic you just see dirt. I need a bath.

Day 223 - Night Swim

O was begging to go swiming in the hottub tonight, so after dinner he and Chris got in. They were in there forever and this was the first time he was in there in the dark. I decided to play with my flash off camera since I finally got it to fire off camera today. wahoo!! My hubby's friend is over here and he was bouncing it off different things for me while I took pics of the two of them in the hottub. It was so fun and so cool! I worked on setting up my alien bee the other night with the softbox and got it all set up. I was having a hardtime getting my speedlight to fire, though. Today I got it to work...I double checked the batteries to make sure they were in there and in there good and it worked! ha Now I need to read and learn about them and what the heck I'm doing. Its so much fun already! I can't wait to paint up there and get some backdrops and borrow a baby to take photos of. Luckily my friend has twins, so if one doesn't want to cooperate maybe the other will. haha!

Day 222 - Caterpillar

I'm just going to have to get a macro lens. That's all there is to it! O and I were watching this creepy looking guy worm its way around the deck yesterday. I caught this shot not long before O smashed him. On accident. But poor guy. He crawled up on the underside of the deck railing and when Owen went to reach his hand up on the deck and smashed him. I'm thinking there's a slight chance he may have survived it...maybe. Anyway. Back to my original subject. I want a MACRO LENS!!! :)

Day 221 - Little Swimmer

O went redneck swimming again today...twice as a matter of fact. He loves to get in our hottub! I love when he does. It keeps him entertained and confined. I captured this sweet image of him this morning on his first swim of the day. Its a win win for both of us. :)

Day 219 - GranGran

My grandmother came over on Saturday morning and I wanted to get some pics of her & my mom with O. This is my favorite from the day of O with his great grandmother. So sweet.

Day 218 - Miss S

On Friday, O and I went to visit a friend at home for some swim time. This is her beautiful daughter, Miss S. She was such a hoot and totally cracked me up!
